Jan 27 “Waist to Belly Button”

Surf picked up a little but it’s still struggling. This has been the smallest two/three week stretch I have seen here in the 4 years I’ve lived in Guinones. Keep your fingers crossed for a fun session tomorrow morning. Waves today are waist to stomach high and very soft. Lots of work but it’s still pretty fun.
Only problem is the wave is closing out bad during the lower tides. This is what happens with south swells in this area. We’ve been having photo fun the past few days with new post processing filters. You always have the option of getting your photos like this or a normal but semi boring crisp clean edit. Let us know what you fancy. I will try to get our smugmug galleries up to date this week. We’ve been busying with other projects lately.

Be sure to check out or facebook fan page to see our other photographers work. The photos below are from Alfredo Barquero. Alfredo has truly developed an eye for beauty in more than one way. We expect good things from this guy in the future to come. Thanks to everyone who supports the shack. Have fun, Share the Peaks, Respect the locals, and try to spread out.

Jan 26 “Waiting…. waiting… waiting… set wave… waiting waiting zzz. zz. z. “

Surf was enough to keep you in the water but not quite enough to write home to mom about. Knee high with some waist high sets. Clean early morning with a low tide.
Looking forward we should start to see an increase in size into tomorrow. WAHOO! Boy do we need a wave. Morning will build and Saturday looks to be a good little fun waist to chest high wave. It seems the swell angle switched as well which should help… What? Need surf photos from professional surf photographers? BOOK US TO SHOOT YOUR SESSION surf@nosarashack.com or hit us up 0n the beach. JUST LOOK FOR THE NOSARA SHACK LOGOS and don’t settle for imposters.  We have some cool things in the making. We sold out of our first batch of hats without even trying to sell them. That’s just how good they turned out. 40 more coming in a couple of weeks.. All colors and stuff..

Matt Vaughan aka Dirty Hippie is rocking the beautiful photos you see North end matt@nosarashack.com, Candice Storm is in Mal Pais breaking hearts and turning heads with her photograhy Candice@nosarashack.com, Alfredo Barquero is hanging with friends and getting all Artsy with his stuff (seen below) alfredo@nosarashack.com and I am sitting in front of my PC getting fat graham@nosarashack.com.

enjoy the weekend! Peace and Love , Anarchy and kIsses! ~graham

Jan 25 ” ZZZZ… ZZzz. zzz. z”

Yup, unless you’re learning to surf it’s not looking to great out there. Should build into the weekend to waist to stomach high. Alfredo took today’s photos and the video posted below is from a trip to Nicaragua. ENJoy the week!

I never pass at a chance to go on an adventure, just ask anyone. Even better when it’s with kids. I enjoy watching their excitement, seeing and experiencing things for the first time. For the  two twins it was their first trip to these spots, but  for Sean it was nothing new. He had been [...]

Un Dia en Pavones I’ve done a fair bit of traveling around the world but not nearly a fraction of what today’s surfers do. So I jumped at the chance to dust off my backpack, grab my board bags, and hit a spot I’ve never seen or surfed here in Costa Rica,  Pavones. While my [...]
